Mignon's at Palace Casino Resort is where locals go for a big-night dinner, and Doe's Eat Place in Margaritaville Resort is the porterhouse-and-Delta-tamales splurge, though some diners report steak quality varying from visit to visit.

Beyond the casino floor

Cheryl's Steakhouse in Ocean Springs is our pick if you care more about the steak than the setting: hand-cut ribeye grilled over an open oak pit, no reservations, and a line before doors open at 5. The Rack House in Gulfport is the bourbon-forward steakhouse for a good steak without a casino between you and dinner, with 100-plus whiskeys and a weekend brunch.
