BrewPaddle sits at the corner of Howard Avenue and Reynoir Street, inside The Bella, a boutique hotel in old downtown Biloxi. Black and white tile floors and a small-cafe layout give it a Paris feel that is unusual on the Gulf Coast. The back room is a former bank vault, now a private dining space papered with Katrina-era headlines. Scott and Rachel Plauche run the place. Scott handles the kitchen and Rachel runs the front of the house, and the hours are kept short on purpose so the two of them can protect family time. That shows in the room: it feels small, personal, and a little quieter than the big brunch rooms nearby.
What to Order
The house biscuit with sausage gravy is the plate that wins over people who came expecting croissants. It is one tall, flaky biscuit under a generous pour of gravy, and reviewers regularly put it against any Southern grandmother's.
