Atmosphere
Tony's sits on 14th Street in downtown Gulfport's historic district, and the room shows off the old buildings around it. Exposed brick, dark ceiling beams, string lights and wood floors set the tone. The restaurant opened in 2010, closed for a stretch and reopened in summer 2025 under new owners, who also run Pisano's and Empanola on the Coast. The reopening added the building next door, so there is more dining room than there used to be, plus Tony's Sidebar, a bar space, and an upstairs loft for private events. It is casual enough for kids and a little dressy enough for a date.
What to Order
The pizza is the reason to come, baked in the brick oven from dough the kitchen says it makes fresh daily. The Gulf coast twist is the gumbo pizza, topped with Gulf shrimp, crab and andouille on a smoky roux-style sauce. If you want to start simple, order the Perfect Pepperoni or the Pizza Bianca. Garlic knots and calzones are a good way to start a group meal. The menu also has red-sauce pastas, including lasagna with Italian sausage and manicotti with ricotta and Parmesan, plus salads and sandwiches. Lemon berry mascarpone cake is the dessert that keeps coming up on menu listings.

Come for the gumbo pizza if you want something you will not get at home, and for the brick walls if you want a room with some personality.
